Board-certified dentist Dr. Mehrack Kajian-Faraji has over 20 years of experience and specializes in general dentistry at La Jolla Dental Group: Mehrack Kajian-Faraji, DDS, in La Jolla, California. She received her bachelor’s degree in natural science from Loyola University Chicago and obtained her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from Loyola College of Dental Surgery. She opened La Jolla Dental Group: Mehrack Kajian-Faraji, DDS, in 2002, where she continues to practice. With a passion for healthcare that knows no bounds, she also serves the surrounding cities in San Diego with students from UCSD.
Dr. Kajian-Faraji has the training and experience necessary to offer patients state-of-the-art, customized general and cosmetic dentistry treatment plans. Dr. Hoa Dao specializes in the field of endodontics. His keen attention to detail has led to him providing superior service customized for each patient’s circumstances. Dr. Dao uses state-of-the-art, advanced instruments in microscopic endodontics to assure accuracy for the treatment and pain control of the root.
Dr. Dao is a board-eligible endodontist with six years of experience. He attended Case Western University, completed his Doctorate of Dental Surgery studies in 2000, and graduated first in his class. He then served as a dental officer in the US Navy, where he provided dental services to our troops during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Dr. Dao was Chief Dental Resident at the Naval Medical Center San Diego.
Once his active duty was completed, Dr. Dao made the decision to further his education and specialize in the field of endodontics. He attended the University of Southern California where he received his certificate in endodontics in 2005.
Dr. Dao continues his education throughout the year. In addition to taking CE courses, he has also given lectures and presentations at local study groups. In order to continue providing the best care to his patients, Dr. Dao is committed to staying ahead of the curve with current literature and modern advances in treatment.
Originally from Sauvignon, Vietnam, Dr. Dao currently resides in San Marcos with his wife, Thi Thi, and their dog, Daisy. He enjoys maintaining his health, as well as his physical and spiritual well-being, by running, swimming, hiking, and keeping his mind sharp. Dr. Dao is also honored to help those in his community by volunteering at the local YMCA and being an assistant Boy Scout leader.
A specialist in the field of periodontics, Dr. Kelk has advanced training and experience to provide her patients with the latest treatments in conventional, regenerative, or cosmetic periodontal treatment and dental implant surgery. Dr. Kelk is known for recommending the best treatment methods, unique for each patient, without compromising patient safety.
Dr. Kelk received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Tehran in 1992. She wrote and sustained her doctoral thesis on orthodontic treatment with periodontal tissues. After taking four different board exams, two national and two state boards, she received her license to practice in the United States.
Once in the U.S., Dr. Kelk took her education further and attended Loma Linda University, where she continued her studies in periodontics. She successfully completed her specialty studies at Loma Linda University in 1999. Throughout her post-graduate training in dental implant and periodontal surgery, she also received advanced training in general anesthesia at Loma Linda Surgicenter, where she completed 50 cases of general anesthesia. Besides practicing dentistry, Dr. Kelk teaches part-time clinical periodontics at the University of Southern California.
